WEEKEND WARM-UP: All the driver reaction as F1 arrives in Portimao for the Portuguese GP

Sprint Qualifying, the rollercoaster Portimao track and that George Russell/Valtteri Bottas crash were the big stories doing the rounds as Formula 1 arrived in the Algarve for the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix.

With the Portimao circuit set to host its second ever Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend, the drivers couldn’t hide their excitement at getting back on the undulating autodromo in the hills just north of Portimao.

But there were still some lingering questions to clear up from the Imola encounter two weeks ago, not least Russell and Bottas’ titanic crash – and the spectacular fall-out that saw Russell issue an apology on social media the day after the race.
