WATCH: Bottas masters Monza to take P1 for the second-ever F1 Sprint
Valtteri Bottas lit up the timesheets at Monza on Friday, ensuring he will start first for Saturday's F1 Sprint after a blistering lap around the Temple of Speed.
The Mercedes driver, bound for Alfa Romeo in 2022, set the fastest lap in Friday evening's qualifying that sets the grid for the F1 Sprint – beating team mate Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in a close-knit session.
The Finn will however start last for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix, having taken new engine components and therefore grid penalties for the race.
