Ferrari have confirmed that Enrico Cardile is leaving his role as Technical Director Chassis Area with immediate effect, bringing his time with the company to an end after two decades.
Cardile joined the Scuderia back in 2005 as head of the Termica Department, before going on to work on cars that took victories in the likes of Le Mans and the Daytona 24 hours.
He then became head of Aero Development in 2016 and, after working in a series of roles after that, was designated head of the Chassis Area in 2021, a position he continued in when he was also made Technical Director Chassis and Aerodynamics in 2023.
It has now been announced, however, that Cardile has handed in his notice, with Team Principal Fred Vasseur set to oversee the Chassis Area in the interim.

While Cardile’s next destination has not been revealed, reports have linked the Italian with a move to Aston Martin, a team that recently hired former Mercedes Power Unit chief Andy Cowell as Group Chief Executive Officer, replacing Martin Whitmarsh.
Ferrari have also made signings of their own recently, with the squad confirming in May that Loic Serra will join as Head of Chassis Performance Engineering in October of this year. Serra previously acted as Performance Director at Mercedes.
Another arrival in October will be Jerome d’Ambrosio. The ex-racing driver is set to become Deputy Team Principal after departing his position as the head of the Silver Arrows’ young driver programme.
At the halfway point of the 2024 season, Ferrari currently sit in second place of the constructors’ championship but hold just a seven-point lead over McLaren in third, while fourth-placed Mercedes are continuing to chase their rivals.
