What is the weather forecast for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix?

Hungary is hosting the 11th race weekend of the 2026 season, and the last round before the summer break. But what sort of weather will the Hungaroring dish up for the drivers?

Last year was a dry race won by Lando Norris, who just held off his team mate in a thrilling battle, the two of them separated by less than a second across the line.

And based on the current forecast, it certainly looks like another dry race might be in store.

Europe has been gripped by a heat wave for much of the summer, and Hungary has been fairly warm and dry of late. It certainly looks like the trend might continue – although the event has delivered plenty of rain in the past.

2026 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend weather forecast

FRIDAY, JULY 24 – FP1 AND FP2
Conditions: Friday's running will see pleasant weather with temperatures ranging from 14°C in the morning to a maximum of 26°C in the afternoon. N-NW winds will average 13-15 km/h, with gusts potentially reaching 40-45 km/h. Conditions remain dry with no precipitation expected. The track temperature may rise to 40-45°C under partly cloudy skies, promising favourable conditions for practice and qualifying sessions.

SATURDAY, JULY 25 – FP3 AND QUALIFYING
Conditions: Expect a pleasant day on July 25, 2026. The maximum temperature will reach 29°C, with a low of around 15°C. Skies will remain generally clear, with little cloud cover and no precipitation expected as high pressure expands over the area. Light winds reaching up to 10 km/h with gusts up to 20-25 km/h should maintain stable track conditions. Lastly, given the warming temperatures and forecast sky conditions, track temperatures could rise to 48-50°C, posing potential challenges for tyre performance. Overall, favourable weather is anticipated.

SUNDAY, JULY 26 – RACE
Conditions: Race day will see noticeably warm and slightly humid conditions. Daytime temperatures will range from 20 to 32°C, with a track temperature potentially peaking at around 50°C. There's a 40% chance of precipitation after 1500, but overall, weather interference during the Grand Prix is unlikely, as the bulk of precipitation is currently expected to arrive after the session. Winds will be light to moderate, averaging 10 km/h, peaking at 15-20 km/h, with gusts from 35-40 km/h.
