WATCH: Ride onboard with Russell for his magnificent pole position lap in Las Vegas
George Russell produced an outstanding performance when it mattered during qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, storming to pole position for the first time since Silverstone back in July.
After setting the pace in FP3, the Mercedes driver was dominant throughout most of qualifying, continuously improving his laps as the low-grip track surface evolved across the tense session.

Choosing to run the risk of being caught out by an incident or yellow flag, Russell waited to be one of the last drivers on track in Q3 before he clocked a blistering lap time of 1m 32.312s, beating Carlos Sainz to P1 by 0.098s.
