Max Verstappen could extend his record for the most race wins in a season if he claims his 15th triumph of 2022 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – with the Dutchman looking in good shape to deliver on that after setting the fastest time in Free Practice 2 at Yas Marina.
Soft tyres on and with the floodlights shining down on the track, Verstappen banged in a lap of 1m 25.146s, putting himself a comfortable 0.341s up on the next-fastest driver, Mercedes’ Sao Paulo Grand Prix winner George Russell.
