Thursday brought some sad news in the Formula 1 world when it was announced that Eddie Jordan had passed away aged 76 following a battle with cancer.
Jordan left an indelible mark on the sport, setting up his own, eponymous team in the early 1990s and going on to score four Grand Prix victories – making life difficult for some of F1’s biggest outfits in the process.
He also gave Michael Schumacher his F1 debut during the 1991 season, prior to the youngster becoming a household name, while an array of other talented racers passed through the Jordan team over the years.
After his successful stint as a team boss, Jordan became a popular television pundit for the BBC and Channel 4, breaking news with his inside access and entertaining millions of fans around the world.
