Formula 1 has been racing around the Baku City Circuit since 2016, and each race has served up its own slice of excitement and drama. And with the drivers set to once again go racing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend, it gave us a chance to look back at some of the most dramatic moments from our time in Baku.
Baku has seen many thrilling moments over the years, such as Daniel Ricciardo’s insane three-car overtake on the main straight that propelled him to victory in 2017, or Sergio Perez sealing his first win as a Red Bull driver last year.
But there have been some low moments too, with Lewis Hamilton going off at Turn 1 in 2021 after accidentally hitting the ‘brake magic’ button on his steering wheel. And who can forget Lance Stroll’s crash last year, or Romain Grosjean dropping it into the wall in 2018 under the Safety Car?
