
TECH WEEKLY: How did Red Bull’s Austria upgrade package launch them within ‘striking range’ of victory?

With a strong second place in the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday, pushing George Russell’s Mercedes for victory, Max Verstappen gave Red Bull by far their best showing of the year. This was an encouraging reward for the team for bringing to the Red Bull Ring the third evolution of their RB22 model.
Team boss Laurent Mekies commented after the race: “We started the season more than a second away from the pace. The Miami package took us to half a second and now we seem to be within the last tenth, certainly within striking range.”
