Oscar Piastri got the better of maiden polesitter Kimi Antonelli on the opening lap of the Miami Sprint as he sailed through to take the lead of the delayed wet session.
After a temporary red flag and multiple formation laps behind the Safety Car, the field eventually set off cautiously for the Sprint from a standing start, although spray and poor visibility still presented themselves as added challenges.

The McLaren driver got a great launch at lights out, allowing him to hug the inside line on the short run down to Turn 1 and snatch the lead from the Mercedes youngster, who went wide and drove onto the run-off area.
Antonelli dropped down to P4, narrowly staying ahead of his teammate George Russell as Lando Norris and Max Verstappen both gained a position as a result of the battle at the front.
Elsewhere, Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson and Aston Martin's Lance Stroll both had a superb first lap as they improved by five places further down the field.
