There was plenty of action as the 2025 season-opening Australian Grand Prix got underway, with Lando Norris managing to hold off a charging Max Verstappen at the front while others fell victim to the wet conditions.
After early drama before the race had even started as Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar spun into the barriers on the initial formation lap – leading to an aborted start as the stricken car was recovered – there was more to come when the delayed start took place 15 minutes later.

Norris had a good launch from pole position, while Verstappen surged ahead to take P2 from Oscar Piastri. Meanwhile there was trouble for home favourite Jack Doohan, who suffered a crash in the Alpine, while Carlos Sainz also went on to hit the wall as the Safety Car emerged.
