PADDOCK PASS: The drivers report back after qualifying in Spain
Lewis Hamilton snatched pole position for the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix by just 0.059s from his Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas, as Max Verstappen slotted into third place, 0.708s behind Hamilton, to set up an intriguing start to the race.
It was Hamilton’s 92nd pole position, while Sunday will see him take his 150th front-row start. But there was plenty of action behind the Briton on qualifying day too, with the Racing Points claiming fourth and fifth on the grid, while both Renault drivers were disappointed not to make it out Q2, having shown strong one-lap pace on Friday.
