MUST-SEE: The moment Verstappen passed Hamilton for the lead – but then ran too wide
In a breathless finale to the Bahrain Grand Prix, viewers around the world watched on anxiously as Max Verstappen closed in on Lewis Hamilton for the lead. Then, on lap 53, we had the decisive moment as the Red Bull driver used DRS to close on his rival before diving around the outside into Turn 4.
But Verstappen’s lead would be short-lived. Having put all four wheels over the white line in completing the pass, the Dutchman had violated track limits and was swiftly instructed to hand the position back. And with no other opportunities forthcoming, Hamilton held on for one of the most hard-fought victories of his career…
