Two updated cars in Budapest showed a spectacular improvement in competitiveness: the McLaren and Aston Martin.
McLaren won their first Grand Prix of the season with Lando Norris. They also started from pole, having averaged around 0.43s off Mercedes in Qualifying in the season up to that point.
