HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the qualifying action as Verstappen storms to pole position in Mexico City
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen will start the Mexico City Grand Prix from pole position after getting the better of Mercedes pair George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in a thrilling qualifying session at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Following a Q2 phase that saw the top five covered by little more than half a tenth, Verstappen clocked a time of 1m 17.775s in the decisive Q3 to finish three-tenths clear of the Silver Arrows drivers – FP3 pace-setter Russell apologising over the radio for what he felt was an opportunity missed.

Sergio Perez put his Red Bull on the second row in front of an ever-enthusiastic home crowd, while Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas was one of the stars of qualifying as he split the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
