Charles Leclerc made a flying start to the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, setting the fastest time in Free Practice 1 as nine teams fielded rookie stand in drivers.
Charles Leclerc led the way in Free Practice 1 for the Mexico City Grand Prix, going fastest ahead of Kimi Antonelli.
Leclerc's 1m 18.380s put him at the top of the pile by 0.107s from Mercedes driver Antonelli, in a session that saw nine of the 10 teams field rookie stand in drivers - Sauber the only team not to run a changed line-up, with Nico Hulkenberg going third fastest.
Arvid Lindblad was the fastest rookie, setting the sixth fastest time in Max Verstappen's Red Bull, 0.617s behind Leclerc.
