Rewind to 2019, and Pierre Gasly was driving for Red Bull. He was up against Max Verstappen, and as the two lapped around Montreal in qualifying for the 2019 Canadian Grand Prix, the Dutchman proved to be a chunk quicker in Q1.
Alex Brundle analyses just where the differences were between the two Red Bull drivers in the first part of qualifying, with Verstappen managing to go four-tenths of a second faster than the Frenchman. Interestingly, though, it was Gasly who would actually out-qualify his team mate as the only Red Bull to make Q3 that day, with Verstappen hampered by a crash for Kevin Magnussen.
