FP1 HIGHLIGHTS: Watch all the action as the British GP weekend begins
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen came quickest out of the blocks as the 2020 British Grand Prix weekend got started at Silverstone, the Dutchman heading the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and the Racing Point of Lance Stroll in the first practice session.
But while it was Verstappen who led the timesheets, it was arguably the performance of the ninth-placed runner that was the most impressive, with Nico Hulkenberg called up to the Racing Point squad as a last-minute replacement for Sergio Perez, and finishing the session just 1.170s off the pace on his first time out in the RP20.
