F2: Duerksen in dominant form to win Melbourne Sprint Race

Joshua Duerksen claimed his second Melbourne Sprint Race victory – going back-to-back around Albert Park after an impressive display from second on the grid.

The Invicta Racing driver lost out at the start by losing a position, but managed to fight back in the early stages, taking the lead on Lap 2 and holding onto it to the chequered flag.

The Mercedes Development Driver managed a late-race Safety Car restart comfortably to retain the lead, and went on to claim the first win of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season.

Behind, the battles were intense but it was Noel León who wound up in second place for Campos Racing, having started seventh on the grid.

He was joined on the podium by Alex Dunne, the Rodin Motorsport and Alpine Academy driver also battled his way through the pack from eighth to third.

Rodin team mate Martinius Stenshorne had crossed the line in P3, but a five-second time penalty for an earlier incident dropped the Norwegian off the rostrum and down to 10th.

Elsewhere, reverse grid polesitter Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak was fouth for ART Grand Prix, ahead of Ritomo Miyata of Hitech.

Gabriele Minì came from 21st on the grid to finish sixth for MP Motorsport. He was followed by Laurens van Hoepen of TRIDENT, and Roman Bilinski rounded out the points for DAMS Lucas Oil in eighth.
