Winner: Lewis Hamilton
You could see it in Lewis Hamilton's eyes that he fancied his chances of taking the fight to Mercedes and fighting for victory in Barcelona after a magnificent performance in Qualifying to secure his first front row start for Ferrari – and he went aggressive by starting on the soft.
That softer rubber wasn't enough to snatch the lead from George Russell at the start but his speed in the second and third stints of a three-stop strategy was impressive and that put him in a position to capitalise on a Virtual Safety Car that ultimately gave him the outright lead.
