Max Verstappen continued where he left off on Friday by setting the pace during Saturday’s third and final practice session for the Miami Grand Prix, with drivers gearing up for the all-important qualifying hour.
Verstappen used the soft compound tyre to clock a 1m 27.535s around the Miami International Autodrome, four-tenths quicker than he managed during FP2 and the same margin clear of nearest rival Charles Leclerc.
FP3: Verstappen comfortably leads Leclerc and Perez in final Miami practice session
Sergio Perez was more than half a second down on his Red Bull team mate in third, with the other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz and the Alpines of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly rounding out the top six positions.
Several drivers had off-track excursions during the session: Alex Albon and Fernando Alonso both went very deep at Turn 17, while Lando Norris and Nico Hulkenberg caught wild slides through Turn 4 and Turn 7 respectively.
